What exactly does Italian Spaces do?
Italian Spaces helps international project teams identify, evaluate and work with suitable Italian makers and production partners. Our services can include project discovery, supplier research, RFQs, samples, factory introductions, commercial coordination and ongoing local project support.
Does Italian Spaces sell furniture or materials?
No. Italian Spaces is an independent sourcing, advisory and coordination consultancy. Where appropriate, product contracts are established directly between the client and selected Italian suppliers.
Do you represent Italian manufacturers?
We do not operate as a traditional manufacturer's representative or distributor. Our recommendations begin with the requirements of the project rather than a fixed catalogue of brands.
How is Italian Spaces paid?
Italian Spaces charges professional fees for its sourcing, advisory and coordination services. The structure depends on the scope, duration and complexity of the engagement and is agreed transparently before work begins.
Can you work with our existing procurement consultancy?
Yes. Through the Italian Desk, Italian Spaces can operate as the procurement team's local resource in Italy while the lead consultancy retains its client relationship, procurement strategy and overall project responsibilities.
Can you work with our architect or interior designer?
Yes. Our role complements the design team. We work from their design intent and specifications to identify appropriate Italian products, materials and production capabilities.
Can you work from an existing specification or BOQ?
Yes. We can research specified products, source potential alternatives, identify bespoke production capabilities or support selected Italian packages.
Can you source bespoke products?
Yes, where appropriate. Italy has significant custom and bespoke production capability across furniture, joinery, lighting, stone, metalwork and other specialist categories. The appropriate producer depends on the project's design, technical requirements, quantities, programme and budget.
Do you only work with luxury brands?
No. We are interested in the right solution, not simply the most famous name. Depending on the project, that may be an internationally recognised brand, a specialist manufacturer, an independent maker or a bespoke producer.
Can you arrange factory visits?
Yes. We can coordinate project-specific factory, workshop and showroom visits around the partners and capabilities most relevant to the project.
Do you handle logistics?
We can coordinate with suppliers, the project team and appointed logistics specialists where required. Specialist freight, customs and logistics services remain with the appropriately appointed providers.
Do you inspect production?
We can support factory communication and coordinate inspections where required. Formal or certified inspections should be undertaken by suitably qualified appointed specialists.
Do you coordinate installation?
Yes. Some specialist Italian packages — including kitchens, bespoke joinery, fitted furniture, stonework and other architectural elements — may require installation, site attendance or supervision by the manufacturer or its appointed specialists. Where required, Italian Spaces can help coordinate these requirements between the supplier and the project team. Installation itself remains the responsibility of the appropriately contracted and qualified manufacturer, installer or site contractor.
At what stage should we contact Italian Spaces?
As early as useful. We can contribute during early sourcing strategy, specification development, active tender or RFQ stages, supplier selection, or after appointment where local coordination is required.
Can you help with only one product category?
Absolutely. An engagement can involve a single bespoke element, one FF&E package or multiple categories across a larger project.
Where do you work?
Italian Spaces is based around accessing the Italian market for international projects. We can support projects internationally and assess each engagement according to its requirements.
